Grand View Volleyball Camps

Makani Cantor enters his 15th season as an assistant coach for the Viking volleyball program and has been an instrumental part of its recent success, including a school-record fifth-place finish at the 2013 and 2018 NAIA National Championships. Cantor was named AVCA National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2018. He has also been named Heart of America Conference Assistant Coach of the Year since 2017. Cantor also supported the Vikings Men’s Volleyball Team for the first 2 years of the program’s inception

Cantor came to Grand View after serving as an assistant coach at Northwestern State University and Graceland University. He also coached for Iowa Power Volleyball Alliance as the program's 17's coach from 2006-2009. In 2008, his team finished second in the Junior Olympic tournament.  Cantor also spent time with the Waukee Warrior Volleyball Club.

Cantor played collegiately at Graceland University. He resides in West Des Moines and during his time as the Viking Assistant Coach, has worked for Wells Fargo Bank for the last 16 years in various roles.
